As a member of the East County Chamber of Commerce, the center and its tenants support a variety of events for schools, clubs and charitable organizations. The mall management staff is active on many community boards and advisory committees including the Grossmont College Foundation, East County Boys and Girls Club, La Mesa Rotary Club, Salvation Army KROC Center and the La Mesa Parks and Recreation Foundation. GROSSMONT CENTER MALL WALKER PROGRAM
A Mall Walker is any person enrolled in the free walking fitness program offered by Grossmont Adult School in cooperation with Grossmont Center. Each person who signs up receives an information packet on stretching, tips for safe and comfortable walking and mileage records.
Walkers who wish to take part in this free program may enroll any Saturday morning in the Garden Food Court at Grossmont Shopping Center, 5500 Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa. A health educator leads a "stretch and walk" at 8am and 9am. If you'd like more information please call 619-644-3555.
THE SALVATION ARMY RAY AND JOAN KROC CENTER
Grossmont Center is host to the annual Angel Tree Toy Drive in addition to the Red Kettle Drive. Each year on the evening of the day after Thanksgiving, the KROC Center and mall management join hands to welcome the holiday season with the annual tree lighting ceremony. The event is free and includes food, raffle prizes, entertainment and a donation presentation to the KROC center. www.kroccenter.orgLA MESA PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION
A private non-profit organization that improves the lives of East County families through excellent recreational, educational, & cultural services. Got spare change? bring it to Grossmont Center and donate by tossing it into our fountains located in Macy’s courtyard. 100% of coins are donated monthly to the organization.
