What: Put on your 60's threads and head over to Grossmont Center for the FREE family friendly celebration that is sure to be a blast!
The celebration includes flashbacks of 60’s music, dance, fashion, history, crafts, food and much more! Bring your cameras and your smiles, as there will be plenty of reasons to take pictures. You may even see a 60's Icon or two!
105.7 The Walrus, is hosting a 60’s Costume Contest at their booth from 11am – 1pm to win tickets to see HAIR at the San Diego Civic theatre.
The celebration ceremony begins at 11:00am in Macy's Courtyard followed by live entertainment and other festivities throughout the mall until 3:00pm. For more details visit grossmontcenter.com

Grossmont Center Gives Over $50,000 to Local Charities for 50th Anniversary
Grossmont Center has donated over $2 million dollars to local charities since its doors opened in 1961. The missions of these charities are in education, health and well-being and the futures of our youth. Some of the recipients include the La Mesa Parks and Recreation Foundation, the Ray and Joan Kroc Salvation Army Center, the Wounded Warriors Fund, the Boys & Girls Club of East County, and the Sharp Grossmont Hospital Foundation. This year alone Grossmont Center will donate more than $50K to these and other local charities.
Grossmont Center is celebrating its anniversary throughout 2011 with a 1960’s Flower Power theme campaign to include 60’s music throughout the center and exciting events including; Get Your Groove On Summer Concerts Series that begin every Friday evening in June and July, which includes a Beatles Tribute Band.
And, to celebrate Father’s Day, a Classic Car Show and Retro Rock N Roll Band on June 18th. The center also launched its Facebook page this year with a “Bit O’ Luck if you Like” campaign in March. Fifty $25 Grossmont Center gift cards were awarded to facebook friends, and one lucky winner was awarded a $1000 Grossmont Center gift card. The giving doesn’t stop there, July 8th through the10th, the mall will partner with the San Diego Humane Society and S.P.C.A. to reach a goal of adopting 50 pets over the 3-day event at the mall. Adoption fees for kittens, cats, puppies and dogs, will be reduced to $50 and the mall will give a $50 Grossmont Center gift card to each adopter with a confirmed adoption.
On August 13th, Thank You La Mesa Day to include free gift bags and one lucky winner of a 50” Flatscreen T.V. And you won’t want to miss the Anniversary Bash planned for September 24th. Picture Perfect Moms on Display at Grossmont Center
What: 11 am - 2pm, Saturday May 7th at Grossmont Center.
This Mother's Day, Grossmont Center will show its appreciation for Mothers with a Mother's Day drawing contest. More than 500 prize drawings, cupcakes and milk and a free rose. Grossmont Center is hosting a special Mother's Day event to salute moms for all they do to support their families and community throughout the year. Over 6000 La Mesa elementary and middle school students in grades K - 8 were enlisted to submit their personal drawings of Mom for a Grossmont Center Mother's day drawing contest. The public voting will begin at 11 a.m. and nine winners will be announced at 2:15 p.m. Plus, Mom will cherish a Mother's Day card which children can create and color during the event.

Easter Bunny Hops Into Grossmont Center To Celebrate 50 Years
What: You’ll get a feel from the 60’s next time you shop at Grossmont Center. The 50-year celebration campaign includes flower power elements and music that dates back to the 1960’s. The center kicks off its year-long 50th anniversary celebration this Saturday, April 16th from 10a.m. - 2:00p.m at the Easter Festival.
Festivities: Festivities will be set up throughout the mall to include bunny petting, crafts, sweet treats, photos with the Easter Bunny, and Artist and Author, Billy Martinez will paint live on three 5’ Easter eggs.
Grossmont Center has built a giving reputation in the East County through charitable contributions to the La Mesa Parks and Recreation Foundation, Salvation Army KROC Center, East County Boys & Girls Club, and the Sharp Grossmont Hospital Foundation. This year the center will donate more than $50K to theses charities. Grossmont Center is thankful for its 50-years of ownership and its community partnerships. Love is in the air this Saturday at Grossmont Center
LA MESA, CA (February 8, 2011) – Grossmont Center is giving shoppers free roses and heart shaped cookies 11:00am -2:00pm this Saturday in Macy’s courtyard.
Adults will receive a long stem red rose from Cupid, and free decorating of heart shaped cookies and Valentine’s Day cards will be offered for kids. And, adults can enter to win one of three gifts for their Valentine during the event. The center will draw three winners just in time for Valentine’s Day for Dinner and a Movie, A Spa Treatment and a Mall Gift Card. Roses will be available until 2pm or while supplies last.
“This is just one of many fun and free events to kick off the center’s 50-Year Celebration” said Tracie Plefka, Marketing Director, at Grossmont Shopping Center. “Our 50-year celebration will include fun events and promotions that recognize this anniversary and thanking our community of loyal shoppers.”
